Award winning artist Becky Mair was born in Chatham, Kent. In 1985 she did a foundation course at Canterbury College of Art. She then went to live and work in London mainly within the art related industries such as, advertising, film and tv, and fashion houses. Becky completed her BA Honours degree in 2004 at UCE, and in 2013 won best selling published artist at the art and framing industry awards. Becky developed her own immediate response to a technique by the abstract artist Jackson Pollock, whilst studying his process at university. Working mainly in acrrylic paint, ink or domestic emulsion paint; Becky work directly from the tube or paint pot. Using a stick or tube to flick and direct the paint from a standing position over the paper or canvas. "With my work I am interested in expressing an impression of the subject matter; its stature, energy and essence.
